Summary
Manchester Regional High School continues its campus-wide technology transformation with the completion of a new TV Studio upgrade. This marks the fifth technology project completed for the district within the past year, part of a larger effort to modernize learning spaces across the building.
The upgraded studio is now the home base for morning announcements, school news, event coverage, and student-led productions. It gives students the chance to operate real broadcast equipment, manage live switching, and experience what it feels like to run a professional studio from behind the camera and at the anchor desk.
The space is built around a flexible grid rigging system and a custom portable anchor desk, creating a clean, production-ready environment. Two Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 cameras integrate with a Blackmagic ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K switcher to support multi-camera broadcasts. HyperDeck recorders and a Web Presenter 4K allow for high-quality recording and live streaming, while an Apple Mac mini workstation handles editing and post-production.
Lighting is driven by ETC ColorSource and Source Four LED fixtures along with an ETC fos/4 panel, all controlled through a ColorSource 20 console with wireless connectivity. A four-person wireless intercom system keeps directors and camera operators coordinated in real time, and wireless Sennheiser microphones ensure clear, reliable audio. Teleprompters, mobile tripods, and a chroma key system allow students to create polished broadcasts and experiment with virtual sets.
With upgraded Cat 6 and SDI infrastructure, the studio is built for reliability today and expansion tomorrow. This project continues Manchester’s steady investment in technology that not only upgrades spaces, but elevates the student experience.
