Summary
West Essex Regional High School’s theater was reworked from the ground up to give the space stronger lighting, audio, video, and stage infrastructure that can keep up with modern productions.
The lighting system is built around ETC’s Ion XE platform with ColorSource and Source Four LED fixtures providing coverage from both stage electrics and front-of-house positions. Paradigm architectural controls, connector strips, updated electrics, and new LED house and aisle lighting bring better control and visibility throughout the room while keeping the system easy for staff and students to operate.
On the audio side, the theater now runs on a digital mixing system with line-array speakers, subwoofers, stage inputs, monitors, and a full wireless microphone package. Assistive listening and a ClearCom communication system help keep productions running smoothly between the booth, backstage, and performers.
The space also gained a new high-lumen laser projection system with automated screen and Crestron touchscreen controls that tie lighting, audio, and video together into one simple control interface.
Rigging improvements and a new cyclorama backdrop round out the upgrade, giving the theater more flexibility for staging, lighting positions, and scenic design.
